RAM Maintenance Schedule by Months & Miles
We highly recommend coming in for RAM service before taking a long road trip, regardless of your RAM maintenance schedule. You don’t want to face a breakdown far from home.
Another note on this RAM service interval is that along the way if our service team sees something that might need repairs in the coming months or immediately, we will alert you.
Every 10,000 Miles/12 Months
- Change the oil and filter
- Rotate the tires at the first sign of irregular wear, even if it occurs before the oil indicator system turns on
- Inspect the battery and clean and tighten terminals as required
- Inspect the CV/Universal joints
- Inspect the brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, and hoses
- Inspect the engine cooling system protection and hoses
- Inspect the exhaust system
- Inspect the engine air cleaner if using in dusty or off-road conditions, and replace the engine air cleaner as necessary
- Deploy power side steps to clean linkages with high-pressure car wash to remove any foreign debris, and apply MOPAR® Spray White Lithium Grease to the pivot points
- Inspect and replace the Evaporative System Fresh Air Filter as necessary; replacement may be more frequent if vehicle is operated in extreme dusty conditions
At 20,000 Miles or 2-Month Maintenance
- All recurring services from first interval
- Inspect the CV/Universal joints
- Inspect front suspension, tie rod ends, and replace if necessary
- Inspect the brake linings, and replace as necessary
- For severe dusty driving conditions, inspect and replace the Evaporative System Fresh Air Filter as necessary; replacement may be more frequent depending on conditions
30,000 Miles or 18-Month Maintenance
- All services from 10,000-mile interval
- Inspect the CV/Universal joints
- Inspect the front and rear axle surfaces
- For severe dusty driving conditions, inspect and replace the Evaporative System Fresh Air Filter as necessary; replacement may be more frequent depending on conditions
- Replace engine air cleaner filter
40,000-Mile or 30-Month Maintenance
- All services from 10,000 and 20,000-mile maintenance intervals
50,000 Miles or 50-Month Maintenance
- All services from 10,000-mile interval
- Inspect the CV/Universal joints
- For severe dusty driving conditions, inspect and replace the Evaporative System Fresh Air Filter as necessary; replacement may be more frequent depending on conditions
60,000 Miles or 60-Month Maintenance
- All services from 10,000 and 20,000-mile maintenance intervals
- Inspect the front and rear axle surfaces – If gear oil leakage is suspected, check the fluid level (If using your vehicle for police, taxi, fleet, off-road, or frequent trailer towing, change axle fluid)
- Inspect the transfer case fluid
Infrequent Services
- Replace cabin air filter every 12,000 miles
- Replace spark plugs every 100,000 miles or 10 years
- Flush and replace the engine coolant at 10 years or 150,000 miles (240,000 km) whichever comes first
- Inspect and replace PCV valve if necessary every 100,000 miles or 10 years
- Change transfer case fluid every 120,000 miles or 12 years
- Inspect the transfer case fluid and change for any of the following: police, taxi, fleet, or frequent trailer towing
- Flush and replace the engine coolant at 10 years or 150,000 miles (240,000 km) whichever comes first
- If equipped with Stop/Start, replace accessory drive belt with OEM grade MOPAR® belt every 15 years or 150,000 miles
