2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 Lifted
No doubt, you’ve noticed lifted trucks rolling through the Lake Havasu City area. They’re a ton of fun to take on the trail and they look great. Maybe you’ve been thinking about lifting your pickup. But how much does it cost to lift a truck? How much is it to lift a truck if you were to do it yourself? Our service department wants to keep you informed, so we answer those questions below and discuss other things you should keep in mind when getting your pickup lifted.

How Much is It to Lift a Truck If It’s Done by Professionals?

Lifting a pickup is no easy task. Multiple things can go wrong, which is why a lot of Lake Havasu City drivers have elected to have an expert do it. How much is it to lift a truck if a professional does it? Having a shop lift your truck can cost anywhere from $800 to $8,000. The reason the cost varies so much is that it depends on several factors such as whether a leveling or lift kit is used, what kind of setup you want, and what kind of truck you have. Our service center would be happy to walk you through your options.

How Much Is It to Lift a Truck Yourself?

A lot of our Bullhead City customers are intrepid do-it-yourselfers and love to tackle jobs like this on their own. We respect that. So, how much does it cost to lift a truck if you do it yourself? That depends on which kind of kit you choose to buy. We’ll get into the pros and cons of each type of kit later. But this is how the costs of each type break out:

  • Leveling and body kits – $100 to $500
  • Suspension kits – $1,000 to $5,000

Suspension Lift or Body Lift – Which is Better?

There are two types of lift kits you can use: suspension lifts and body lift kits. Body kits are significantly more affordable, while suspension kits will give you more height. If you’re going to take this job on yourself, we strongly recommend that you stick to body lift kits, as they are far less complex than suspension lifts. Here are the details about each type:

Body Lift

  • Can increase your truck’s height by 1 to 3 inches (not as high as a suspension lift)
  • Is less expensive than a suspension lift
  • Is far simpler than a suspension lift

Suspension Lift

  • Can lift your truck 4 to 6 inches (twice as much as a body lift)
  • Is more expensive than a body lift, and may require the purchase of additional parts
  • Is more complex than a body lift
